Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Reverie app and website (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Reverie is — and is not

Reverie is an AI-powered journaling and self-reflection tool. It analyzes the entries you write and provides reflective prompts, summaries, and insights, including observations about patterns in your thoughts and emotions. Reverie is not a medical device, a mental-health service, or a substitute for professional care.

Reverie does not diagnose, treat, or cure any medical or psychological condition, and your use of the Service does not create a therapist–client or doctor–patient relationship. The reflections and insights Reverie provides are generated by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or irrelevant. They are not professional, medical, or clinical advice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using Reverie, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the journal entries, reflections, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant Reverie a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to process Your Content solely to operate, improve, and secure the Service (including generating AI reflections for you).

You are solely responsible for Your Content. Do not submit content that is unlawful, infringing, or that encourages harm to yourself or others.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to harm yourself or others, or to encourage such harm.
• Submit unlawful, abusive, threatening, or infringing content.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or misuse the Service or its AI systems.
• Share your account or resell access to the Service.

6. AI disclaimers

The Service uses artificial intelligence that can make mistakes. Reverie provides no warranty that reflections, insights, or prompts will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose. You use the Service at your own discretion and risk.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reverie and its owners, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including any reliance on AI-generated reflections or insights.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Reverie harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, the license granted in Section 4 ends, and we will handle your data per our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. (Note: users in the United Kingdom may have statutory consumer rights that apply regardless of this clause. Confirm governing law and jurisdiction with qualified counsel for your US + UK audience.)
